Real Estate Auction Platform Development for High-Value Commercial Assets
Seasia developed Galetti, an enterprise-grade commercial real estate and asset auction platform designed to manage high-value property sales through secure, real-time competitive bidding. The platform supports complex commercial auctions without compromising bidding speed or fairness.
Project Overview
Galetti is a sophisticated real estate bidding platform developed to support commercial property auctions, asset disposition, and competitive bidding at enterprise scale.
Unlike conventional listing platforms, the system manages the complete auction lifecycle, from bidder registration and verification to live bidding, lot transitions, payments, invoicing, and post-auction administration.
The platform supports scheduled and live auctions, proxy bidding, floor bids, vendor bids, live video streaming, soft-closing rules, and multi-tenant client operations, making it suitable for complex, high-value property and asset transactions.

Project Scope & Business Challenges
Real estate auction software development introduces considerably different technical requirements from standard property listing or marketplace applications. Auction state can change within milliseconds, and every bidder must see an accurate representation of that state.
Real-Time Bid Synchronization
- High bidding volumes created the potential for latency, race conditions, and inconsistent auction states across connected bidders. The platform needed to reliably determine bid order and immediately propagate changes across all active participants.
Preventing Last-Second Bid Sniping
- Fixed auction closing times could allow bidders to submit bids immediately before expiry, leaving other legitimate participants without enough time to respond.
Synchronizing Online and Physical Auctions
- The platform needed to bring together online bidders, physical auctioneers, floor bidders, vendor bids, live video and audio, and digital auction controls. All of these interactions had to remain synchronized around the same lot and auction state.
Managing Automated Bidding
- Buyers required the ability to specify maximum bid limits while allowing the system to automatically compete on their behalf without exceeding those limits.
Payment & Deposit Workflows
- The platform required regional payment processing, deposit verification, invoice creation, receipt generation, and customer communication around financial transactions.
Automated Auction Lifecycle Management
- Lots needed to transition reliably between scheduled, active, extended, sold, passed, and completed states without depending entirely on manual intervention.
Enterprise Multi-Tenant Operations
- The system also needed to manage multiple clients, bidders, auction assets, verification states, paddles, media files, and transaction records while maintaining clear separation between tenants.
Solution Offered by Seasia
Seasia approached the engagement as an enterprise online auction platform development initiative, designing both the auction engine and the supporting operational infrastructure around real-time reliability.
Real-Time Bidding Engine
Socket.io was implemented to synchronize bid activity between the backend, connected bidder interfaces, and auction administration systems. Bid updates, auction status, lot transitions, and bidder activity can be propagated in real time, keeping participants aligned with the current auction state.
Soft-Closing Anti-Sniping Logic
Seasia implemented soft-closing functionality that automatically extends an auction when qualifying bids arrive close to the scheduled closing time. Instead of allowing a last-second bid to immediately end the auction, other bidders receive additional time to respond, creating a more competitive auction process.
Proxy Auto-Bidding
Buyers can configure a maximum bid amount and allow the platform to automatically increase their bid when competing offers are received. The system continues bidding according to configured increments until the buyer's predetermined ceiling is reached.
Hybrid Online & Floor Bidding
The platform supports digital bids alongside physical floor and vendor bids, enabling auction operators to manage hybrid auctions from a unified workflow.
Live Auctioneer Streaming
Dolby.io WebRTC and REST APIs were integrated to provide live video and audio from the auction environment. This allows remote bidders to follow the auctioneer while participating digitally through the bidding interface.
Scheduled Auction Automation
Bull, Redis, Agenda, and Node-Cron support background processing and scheduled auction operations, including auction activation, lot transitions, closing processes, scheduled tasks, notifications, and supporting workflow automation.
Bidder Verification & Paddle Management
The application incorporates bidder verification and paddle allocation so authorized participants can be clearly identified before participating in high-value auctions.
Integrated Financial Workflows
Peach Payments and Ozow were integrated for payment processing and deposit-related workflows. The platform also automates PDF invoice creation and distributes relevant financial documents through email.
Multi-Tenant Administration
Seasia developed centralized capabilities for managing multiple clients, properties, assets, bidders, auction configurations, and operational records within the same platform.

Through this real estate auction platform development engagement, Seasia delivered the infrastructure required to manage high-value commercial auctions from bidder onboarding through final transaction workflows.
Real-Time Live Bidding
Bid activity is synchronized across connected participants, helping maintain a consistent auction state throughout competitive bidding.
Proxy Auto-Bidding
Registered bidders can define maximum bid limits and allow the platform to respond automatically to competing bids.
Soft-Closing Protection
Last-minute qualifying bids can trigger automatic time extensions, reducing bid sniping and allowing active participants an opportunity to respond.
Hybrid Auction Support
Live video, online bids, physical floor bids, and auctioneer activity can operate together within the same auction workflow.
Bidder Verification & Paddle Management
Verification and paddle assignment provide controlled participation for registered and approved bidders.
Automated Lot Lifecycle
Scheduled workflows manage lot progression and auction-state transitions, reducing dependency on manual operational intervention.
Payment & Deposit Integration
Peach Payments and Ozow support regional payment workflows associated with auction participation and transactions.
Automated Documentation
The system generates PDF invoices and distributes invoices and receipts digitally through automated communication workflows.
Multi-Tenant Client & Asset Management
Administrators can manage multiple commercial real estate clients, assets, bidders, and auction operations through a centralized platform.
Intelligent Media Handling
HEIC files uploaded from iOS devices are automatically converted to web-compatible image formats, simplifying property and asset media management.
Multi-Environment Deployment
The application was configured across Local, Development, UAT, Production, Fred, and Kagiso environments to support enterprise development, testing, release, and deployment workflows.
